The premise
A child born on Canadian soil is a Canadian citizen from birth. That is settled law and it is the whole reason families make this trip. Everything else is logistics: a visa, a hospital that will accept an uninsured patient, somewhere to live for several months, and the paperwork that lets a newborn leave the country.
